My Favorite Porn Star: Sasha Strange

I think it’s obvious to everyone that I am a man of a certain age. Not old enough to be your grandfather, but not so young that you’d call me your kid brother. That being said, I grew up in the age of the VCR. Meaning: I grew up during what has turned out to be the last vintage era of true porn stars. Yes, this current era churned out a couple notables (Sasha Grey being one), but my era is responsible for: Nina Hartley, Jenna Jameson, Christy Canyon, Debi Diamond and on and on and on.

But my favorite porn star of that era might be one you don’t know: Sasha Strange. Just typing the name sends a tingle up my…well, spine. And that’s all you need to know about that. 🙂

Back in the day, Miss Sasha only did a handful of movies, compared to some of her contemporaries who seemed to appear in every other title on the shelf in the behind-the-curtain section of your favorite video rental joint. You might be able to find her via a Google search, but she’s nowhere near as findable as, say, Jenna Jameson.

While Sasha was only in a few, relatively speaking, she was absolutely, positively stunning. A tall blonde with a sexy, smoky voice and those eyes…those stunning, piercing blue eyes, Sasha’s scenes always left me climbing the walls. I would be remiss if I didn’t also point out her other most popular—ahem—asset. Yes, I’m talking about her backside. Bluntly put, Sasha’s booty is a thing of beauty (all apologies to Miss Sasha, should she ever find her way to this blog).

Even though Sasha’s formative years represented majority of my college days, I never ever forgot about her. Yeah, I’ve consumed my fair share of porn over the years and can probably name more starlets than is healthy, but Sasha has always stuck with me. So you can imagine my joy earlier this year when I came across her new Twitter feed. It was the opportunity of a lifetime. Some little boys dream of meeting their favorite baseball players or musicians. I always hoped I’d have a chance to meet Sasha. And, lo and behold, here was my opportunity!

Now, that may sound silly to you and, truth be told, it kind of is silly: a grown man longing to meet a woman whose only connection to him is he watched her have sex in movies. Hey, we all have our things in life. Don’t rain on my parade and I won’t rain on yours. I’m not so naive or delusional as to have any real expectations; rather, I always wanted to say hello to Sasha and tell her “thanks” for…well, you know. LOL

Over the course of a few months, I got to know Sasha, 140 characters at a time. She, in her own way, expressed something of an appreciation for my writing. That was a compliment I never in a million years could’ve anticipated.

For those who wonder, Sasha is alive and well and happily married these days. As pretty as she was back in the day, I’d say she’s even prettier. She seems happy. She does not eschew her porn past, but seems to be enjoying her life in relative obscurity. Because of that, I shall not tread on our casual friendship and divulge too much more about her than that. Her life and her story are not mine to share with you and I respect that.

If you want to know more about the life of a retired porn star, you just have to go out and make friends with one on your own, kids. 🙂
